WIPO has rolled out its latest sequence listing standard – ST.26 – to improve data searching and transfer for patent offices, applicants and inventors.
“ST.26” refers to an international standard that outlines how nucleotide and amino acid sequences are to be displayed in a sequence listing using an XML format. It was adopted in October 2021 and came into effect on July 1, 2022.
A single file in XML 1.0 format, encoded with Unicode UTF-8, must be used to present an ST.26 sequence listing.
